Our Commitments
As first principle, we believe in creating only what will be worn, excess is not our ethos. We produce in limited quantities, promoting limited editions, avoiding unnecessary stock and waste. When not in stock, we encourage “pre order” to make what is going to be worn, in the color, fabric and size selected by our customers.

We work with a limited selection of NYC makers, carefully selected based on their craftsmanship, environmental and social approach, to ensure the highest quality and sustainability standards. Our loungewear and accessories are handcrafted or handwoven with care and love, by people benefiting from competitive living wages.
At ANTIGONE, sustainability also means that we exclusively use material that do not harm the environment, focusing on organic and sustainable fibers. As no similar analysis was available upon our knowledge, we built the sustainability chart that you can access here, compiling all main data that we refer to when selecting fabrics for our loungewear and accessories. It remains a “work in progress” and we will always keep working on improving our sourcing. As of today, here are below the two main fabrics that we use:

Organic Cotton:
The word “organic” refers to the same distinction between organic agriculture and conventional agriculture. With this distinction in mind, growing conventional cotton is one of the most chemical-intensive crops, in addition to being one of the most widely grown in the world. These chemicals have a tremendous impact on the earth’s air, water, and soil, and on the health of the people who live in cotton-growing areas.
Alternatively, organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture systems.
Tencel™:
We think that Tencel™ is the Rolls Royce of sustainable fabrics! Made by Austrian company Lenzing, Tencel™ Lyocell is a regenerated cellulose fiber with properties almost identical to cotton. From forest to fashion, Tencel™ is manufactured from Eucalyptus trees, which grow quickly and use much less land than cotton, and are farmed without the use of pesticides and insecticides. Its exceptional softness, comfort and breathability make it the perfect match and use for our loungewear and accessories.

Lastly, our sustainability approach does not end with the handcrafting of our loungewear and accessories. We also make sure that they get delivered to your home in the most sustainable way. Our packaging is exclusively made from recyclable or recycled material.
